Great day at Sea World

Alright! After another hour of waiting on photos to upload here we are! We did Sea World on Monday and had a great time. I was last here 21 years ago and can only remember the Shamu show. This time we got to see a show with Dolphins, birds and an all black whale - another with a sea lion, seal and an otter. Course there were the tide pools which allowed the kids to pick up star fish and to touch urchins... (they'd done that before on the Washington coast but this was still cool). We saw turtles, sharks, beluga whales, polar bears, sting rays and a variety of fish including the fresh water variety.

When Sea World posts a sign that says "SOAK ZONE", take heed.

This is the first of 3 (in a row) that soaked us. Katie wanted to sit in the front row center but we went to the side and to the 3rd row. We were warned that those in the first 12 rows would get "soaked" but really? Over here on the edge? Yup even over there on the edge.

At Sea World there was a ride which was 1/2 roller coaster followed by 1/2 Chute the Chutes (Callaway Park). It was evident from the wet sidewalks that if you were to stand there while the the cart was coming down that you'd get soaked. The girls thought that this was a good place to stand and therefore, they did.

After watching Emily get doused a couple of times Kaitlyn decided to join in but was a little more tentative - she tried to take the shelter of Emily's arm.

I love the reactions!

Both are very pleased with themselves. As were we all - a good time was had by all.
